A lot of national news has been worry-inducing recently, so I was thrilled to tune into WOUB yesterday morning and hear, instead of the latest financial doom and gloom, an announcement from council member Jim Sands that the City is setting aside $40,000 in street maintenance money to repair the brick surface of East Carpenter Street. Anyone who has recently driven down Carpenter muttering desperate prayers of protection for their muffler will understand my joy.

Well shoot, just checked back and realized that the ordinance is only proposed, not passed. Stand by for further updates...
